Metro Rail Projects

Metro Rail Projects

Metro and light rail projects play a vital role in improving urban mobility, capacity, and connectivity across major cities. These projects involve complex interfaces between civil works, rail systems, electrical infrastructure, signalling, and communications. Delivery requires strict adherence to safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements while supporting high-frequency, high-capacity operations in live transport environments across Australia.

1.Canberra Metro Light Rail Project – City to Gungahlin (ACT, Australia)

The Canberra Metro Light Rail Project delivered a modern light rail system connecting the city centre to Gungahlin. The project included track construction, stations, depot facilities, and fully integrated signalling and communications systems to support reliable and efficient public transport operations.

The project delivered Canberra’s first light rail network, improving urban connectivity and providing a safe, reliable, and sustainable public transport solution.

2. Sydney Metro Epping Project (NSW, Australia)

As part of the Sydney Metro Northwest program, the Epping Project involved upgrading the Epping–Chatswood corridor to metro standards. Works included twin rail tunnels, station upgrades, and integrated signalling and communications systems to enable automated metro operations.

The upgrade transformed an existing rail corridor into a high-capacity metro system, supporting increased service frequency and improved operational reliability.

3.Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project (NSW, Australia)

The Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project delivers driverless metro services through tunnels and stations extending from Chatswood, through the Sydney CBD, to Bankstown. The scope included advanced signalling and communications systems essential for automated metro operations.

The project supports fully automated metro operations, significantly increasing network capacity and improving passenger reliability across Sydney’s core transport corridors.

4. Parramatta Light Rail Project (NSW, Australia)

The Parramatta Light Rail Project is a major urban transport initiative in Western Sydney, delivering new light rail infrastructure including track, stops, bridges, and integrated signalling and communications systems to support future growth.

The project enhances transport connectivity across Western Sydney, supporting sustainable urban development and improved access to employment and education hubs.

5.Cross River Rail Project (QLD, Australia)

The Cross River Rail Project is a major rail infrastructure program in Brisbane, delivering underground tunnels and stations to support high-capacity rail services. The scope included signalling and communications systems to enable safe and efficient metro operations.

The project significantly increases rail network capacity and resilience, supporting Brisbane’s long-term transport growth and reliability.

6. Melbourne Metro Project (VIC, Australia)

The Melbourne Metro Project involves the construction of 9 km of twin underground rail tunnels and new stations through Melbourne’s CBD. The scope included high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, along with advanced signalling and communications infrastructure.

The project delivers increased rail capacity and operational reliability, supporting Melbourne’s growing transport demand through modern metro infrastructure.
